The Davis Sisters Need to Talk To You About Something - An Invitation

EVENT DETAILS

The Davis Sisters Need to Talk to You About Something;

A Work in Progress Showing/Game Show

by The Davis Sisters

Join the internationally available Dance duo, The Davis Sisters (Joy and Alexander Davis) as they present the fruits of their first in-person rehearsal in over a year. Are they going to actually create something, or just hang out and hug each other for a few hours? Both? Let’s find out together in this once in a lifetime opportunity. The evening will conclude with a live Game Show event featuring high stakes prizes courtesy of The Davis Sisters. Bring yourself, bring a smile, bring your mom.

At the threshold of dance theater, comedy, and installation, The Davis Sisters (Joy Davis and Alexander Davis), create experiences in which performers and audiences are invited to contemplate humanity, enjoy absurdity, and delight in physical and verbal articulation. Through rigorous imagination, improvisation and ridiculousness, they courageously and insightfully dare to create scenarios in which they perform magnified versions of themselves. The Davis Sisters have created work with support from the American Dance Festival, New England Presenters Association, New England Dance on Tour, New England Foundation for the Arts, the Dance Complex, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Studio@550, Chelsea TheatreWorks, Boston Center For The Arts, The Yard, Goodyear Arts Charlotte, Wesleyan Center For the Arts, and the generous support of viewers like you.

Funded in part by the New England States Touring program of the New England Foundation for the Arts, made possible with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts Regional Touring Program and the six New England state arts agencies.

The LAST Wednesday of Winter at Wesleyan

Dear Colleagues,

In an unexpected turn of events, the Center for the Arts at Wesleyan University made the bold decision to hire The Davis Sisters, to investigate and report on the artists who last performed on their stage in 2020. That's right, 4 artist groups were indeed live and on stage at the CFA as a part of New England Dance on Tour:

Nicole Stanton and Jay Hoggard's Storied Places Project

Ian Berg's Subject:Matter

Deborah Goffe's Scapegoat Garden

and

Joy and Alexander Davis of The Davis Sisters

WE FOUND THEM ...and some special guests including Chair of Dance, Hari Krishnan and graduating senior, Tamara Rivera.
Please join us for a very special limited edition live streaming performance event

TOMORROW (3/17) @ 7pm via YouTube Live

It's free.

It's the news.

It's art.
